Arun Malik
Principal Software Engineer ยท Microsoft Azure Networking
I build AI-powered autonomous operations systems for hyperscale cloud infrastructure. My work focuses on multi-agent architectures that can independently detect, diagnose, and resolve network incidents, shifting operations from reactive human-driven response to proactive, self-healing infrastructure.
Currently at Microsoft Azure Networking, I develop the agentic AI platform that orchestrates autonomous incident resolution across one of the world's largest network infrastructures. My research interests span AI agent design patterns, progressive autonomy frameworks, safety mechanisms for AI-driven infrastructure actions, and the evolution of network operations from rule-based automation to intelligent autonomy.
๐ฏ Areas of Focus
๐ Cloud Security and Governance
Zero Trust architectures, identity-driven access control, compliance automation, and governance at scale across Azure environments. Designing security frameworks that protect hyperscale infrastructure without impeding engineering velocity.
๐ค Autonomous Network Operations
Designing multi-agent AI systems that autonomously resolve network incidents at hyperscale. Achieved 90%+ autonomous resolution rate with zero critical safety incidents through progressive autonomy and layered safety frameworks.
โก AI Agent Architectures
Building skills-based tool architectures for AI agents in production. Focus on composability, governance, and safety in environments where autonomous actions affect global-scale infrastructure.
๐ Evolution of AIOps
Mapping the progression from reactive operations through rule-based automation to autonomous AI-driven infrastructure management. Developing maturity models and readiness frameworks for organizations adopting autonomous operations.
